Spiritual Reflections From a Priest in the Rockies
There is a danger of allowing the Advent season to pass by without little consideration being given to its important lessons beyond preparing us for the Solemnity of Christmas. In 4 short weeks, we are asked to consider the End of the World when Christ returns in glory,
the mission and witness of St. John the Baptist to prepare the way of Christ, and the willingness of Mary and Joseph to say yes to the plans of God and their own vocation to marriage and parenthood!
With many Christmas parties to attend, presents to be bought, homes to be decorated, baking to be finished and preparations for Christmas to be undertaken, let us not fail to also make the adequate time to ponder the mysteries of the Advent season and their relevance in our lives of faith.
In Jesus through Mary,
Fr. Nathan Siray
"Advent's intention is to awaken the most profound and basic emotional memory within us, namely, the memory of the God who became a child." Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI
