Fr. Wilbert’s Message
Greetings of Peace!!! Who could not have peace in a place like this! Every morning so far I pinch myself just to check that I’m not just dreaming this. We are so blessed to live in such a beautiful area. Now it’s not just the area that is beautiful. Having had my first Sunday here with you, you have shown how warm and welcoming you are as a people. Thank you. I love you all already!
A SPECIAL THANKS I want to express my appreciation to Fr. Bryan Frank for all the work he has done with you in this parish. He is known for his great administration skills. I hope that we can continue his legacy of maintaining orderliness so that we can minister well.
INSTALLATION AS PASTOR Bishop Henry will come and celebrate the 11 am Mass on Sunday, August 23 to install me as pastor of Our Lady of the Rockies.
PARISH WEBSITE A couple from Scotland told me that they were confused with the information that was placed on our website for both Banff and Canmore. So, for the time being, we will only maintain one of the two websites for Canmore. www.rockiesparish.com We will try our best to update it as often as we can and keep the communication flowing smoothly. The new website for St. Mary’s in Banff is www.stmarysparishbanff.ca
ONE ROCK I will be in the Redwood Fair Grounds (Tsuu T’ina Rodeo Grounds) near Bragg Creek for One Rock from Friday, August 14 to Sunday afternoon, August 16. Fr. Dan Stevenot, pastor of St. Mary’s Banff, has graciously agreed to take the 11 am Mass that Sunday. I will be back for the 5 pm Mass. I invite you to come join us in celebrating the Catholic Faith through Mass, Adoration, fun activities, praise and worship, inspiring talks, concerts, etc. Visit www.onerock.ca for more information. If you’ve never been to one, this is the one you ought to experience! It’s good for the soul.
OUR LADY AND ST. JOSEPH As we move forward, I dedicate this parish to Our Lady and St. Joseph so that we make a home for their Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, in our hearts, in our homes and in our future church building. Please join me in this prayer!

Baptisms: For all baptisms, a Baptismal Preparation Course is required. Due to a lack of volunteers, the program is only offered two or three times a year. Therefore, as much notice as possible must be given to the parish, so that parents can take the course and set a date for the baptism. Baptismal Forms can be picked up in the parish office.
Weddings: Please Note: The office must be informed 12 weeks in advance of any marriages taking place outside of the parish and requiring Freedom to Marry forms or a letter of permission.
Pastoral Care Please call the parish office if you know someone who is sick, in hospital, shut-in at home or has been placed in a nursing home or assisted living facility and would like to receive the sacraments.
CONSIDERING SEPARATION OR DIVORCE?
Some marriage counselors suggest to married couples that they attend the Retrouvaille program as a last recourse prior to filing for divorce because they have heard about the success of the methods of communication taught in this program. The fall course begins on the weekend of September 11-13, 2015. For confidential information call 403-257-7499. To register for the program go to the link on their website at www.helpourmarriagecalgary.com.
