Please note that there will be no daily masses at the parish office for the rest of the year.  We are having the Novena of Early Morning Masses again this year (the first 5 masses with potluck breakfasts).  They will be held 7:00 am at Windtower, 160 Kananaskis Way, from Dec. 17 to 21st. The nine masses include those held at Our Lady of the Snows Academy Dec 22nd to 25th.

Tomorrow, Monday, December 17th is our parishes’ turn to serve at the “Food and Friends”  dinner at St. Michael’s Hall.  Call Lorraine at (403) 609-3757 to help.

The Catholicism Series is finishing up.  The final video is on December 18th at 7:00 pm and the topic is “The Last Things”.

There are two moments in life which bespeak the nature of God.  The first is babyhood:  small babies do little else but contemplate, in wonder, all that surrounds them.  The second is the open and honest questioning of the child that has learned to use language.  The Word Incarnate seems to spring out of that early use of words in a truly startling way.
When she comes to stay at my house, my eldest granddaughter loves to play with the nativity set in the form of Russian nesting dolls.  The outermost layer represents St. Joseph (holding the donkey in his capable hands):  next we find our Lady then a wise man, a shepherd and finally a tiny tiny baby Jesus.  This part of the doll is of course indivisible.
“And what’s inside of Jesus?” asks the child.  It is a rhetorical question.  “What do you think?” The eyebrows raise  over the wide eyed confidence of a five year old imparting her secret.  “Love, of course.”         Leonie Caldecott

What is the Advent Angel Tree Project?
The Angel Tree Project provides support to families in the Bow Valley who are in need of assistance during the Advent/Christmas season. Once a family has been registered as an “Angel,” the OLS Social Justice Club will ensure that the family receives the support they need. This year will be supporting 12 families from the school community here at Our Lady of the Snows.

To become an Angel sponsor:
· Remove an Angel from the tree, keep, and take with you.
· Purchase the item listed on the ornament.
Return gift card item to OLS main office up to, and including, Thursday, December, 14. You can drop off at Sunday mass and leave with Richard who will pass on to the school. If able, please note the dollar amount on the card so that we can distribute the funds appropriately amongst all our Angel families.

The Ecumenical Adult Ministry, of Our Lady of the Rockies, explores the gifts and challenges of aging through reflection and discussion.  The next workshop will be at 3 pm on Dec. 13th at Origin in Spring Creek and the topic will be Trust vs Insecurity.  Please join us.

Please note that there will be no daily masses at the parish office for the rest of the year due to Father being away.  We are having the Novena of Early Morning Masses again this year (the first 5 masses with potluck breakfasts).  They will be held 7:00 am at Windtower, 160 Kananaskis Way, from Dec. 17 to 21st.
