Food and Friends Dinner Volunteers

Churches in the Bow Valley take turns hosting Canmore’s community dinner for food and fellowship. This group consists of our volunteers for the Monday night “Food and Friends” program held at St. Michael’s Anglican church hall. Our group volunteers for approximately eight nights throughout the year. There are currently about thirty active volunteers who help serve the free meal, to as many as 300 to 350 friends, once a month. If you wish to help at one of the dinners, please call Lorraine Eckstrand at (403) 678-3757 or email her at lle1953@gmail.com.
Hospitality

The Hospitality Group consists of parishioners getting together to create fellowship and community events. The Group also runs the coffee social after the 10:00 am mass. For the first time in our history, Canmore Catholics will have a hall in the new Shrine. We are privileged to live in such a beautiful part of Canada and as Christians we extend this welcome and privilege to visitors. If you would like to be part of the Group, please contact the office.
Maturing Adult Ministry

Our Lady of the Rockies Adult Ministry is an ecumenical lifelong faith development Ministry, composed of Bow Valley men and women in their pre-retirement and retirement years. The Ministry facilitates monthly interactive workshops, exploring the gifts and challenges of aging in an atmosphere of mutual respect, compassion, and support. The primary goal of the Ministry is to encourage, and develop, personal spirituality and growth. The group meets at Origin Village at 808 Spring Creek Drive, usually on the third Thursday of each month at 3:00 pm. Check the bulletin or calendar for dates.

RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults)

RCIA is designed for adults who, after hearing the mystery of Christ proclaimed, consciously and freely seek the living God and enter the way of faith and conversion as the Holy Spirit opens their hearts. By God’s help, they will be strengthened spiritually during their preparation and at the proper time will receive the sacraments fruitfully. This rite includes not simply the celebrations of the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist, but also all the rites belonging to the catechumenate. Interested in becoming Catholic? Contact Al Bush at 403 678-9458.
